...continued from the previous page...
King Darius had no inner peace of mind during the night. He arose very early in the morning and ran in haste to the den of lions. When he got to the den he shouted with a voice of anguish, “Oh Belteshazzar, servant of the living God, is your God whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?” And…(this is the best part) Belteshazzar answered…he what??...he answered! He was alive. He said to the King, “O King, live forever. My God has sent his angel, and hath shut the mouths of these lions and they have not hurt me because He found me innocent and also before you, O King, I have done no hurt. The King was exceedingly glad for him and commanded that they should take Belteshazzar up out of the den. So he was taken up out of the den and not even a scratch was on him because he believed in his God! I’m sure you guessed it. This is the Bible Story of Daniel in the lion’s Den (Daniel 6:1-28). Read it for yourself.
You too can know how to have inner peace of mind in the midst of turmoil. No matter what the circumstances are, if you accept Yahshua (Jesus) as your Savior, deliverer and ruler over your life; if you believe on him to see you through EVERY trial, EVERY hardship, EVERY disaster and EVERY impossible situation, you will be able to endure in the midst of it all. This kind of peace comes from God. It gets to the root which is fear and God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and sound mindedness.
Inner peace of mind comes from God. In the story of Daniel (Belteshazzar), he mentioned that God sent his angel to shut the mouths of the lions. Without God Daniel would have been torn to shreds and his bones crushed and probably eaten. How do I know peace comes from God? Let me show you in the word of God.
“He (God) makes peace in your borders, and fills you with the finest of wheat.” (Psalm 147:14)
“I will both lay me down in peace and sleep: for you, Lord, only make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)
1. Believe that inner peace comes from God.
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is fixed on Him.” (Isaiah 26:3)
2. Fix your eyes (your heart, your conscious mind) on Yahshua (Jesus), who is the Prince of Peace. When the Lord makes you to dwell in safety, you will be able to lay down in peace and sleep, no insomnia here!
“Great peace they have that love Your (God’s) law and nothing shall offend them” (Psalm 119:165).
3. Love God’s laws by obeying them. you will not take offense against those who don’t appreciate you or even persecute you. You will not hate them and you will be able to forgive them. Inner peace is the by-product of loving God’s law.
“ The work of righteousness (God’s law) shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness is quietness and assurance forever” (Isaiah 32:17).
“For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).
4. Live in righteousness and you will have quietness (no drama) and assurance (faith in the promises of God). How long? FOREVER. Wow what a wonderful promise!
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace on believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).
5. Ask God to fill you with his Holy Spirit which fills you with His peace and changes your whole outlook on life and your ability to cope is easier.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened"(Matthew 7:7-8).
6. Memorize these scriptures and use them as a prayer. Ask God to give you his inner peace.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).
7. Replace your thoughts of anxiety, fear and worry with the word of God.
Let’s continue on…
Yahshua gave us peace as a gift. You don’t have to pay for it or earn it or rent it, like you do for everything the world gives you. His peace is free. Jesus sacrificed his life for us to have perfect peace, joy and happiness.
In conclusion, to achieve inner peace of mind in the midst of turmoil, start with the steps outlined above. Go to the source which is God. Let Him give you His Holy Spirit. If you have it already then you've got the most powerful secret that you can use to keep peace in your heart forever. Allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you. Take each one of the scriptures above and turn them into a prayer. Supplicate with them for 15 minutes each day and then begin to memorize those scriptures. When thoughts of anxiety and fear come into your heart, fight it with the sword, your scriptures. Take authority over your thoughts and replace them with the word of God. You will have guaranteed victory!
